Try to check from time to time the thickness of your pads : waiting too much could damage your disks. Usual limit is 2 mm, and be careful, because wear is seldom uniform.
Before you start anything, please check the configuration of your brakes : bads can be hold either by a screw, or an axis with a clip. On GSX-R, There is too a brake pad spring to remove :
Then you can remove the clip using a plier.
Then remove axis, using the plier if you need.
Then pads are free, but it may even be difficult to remove them, especially if the disk is wear. It's better to untighten the calipers, so you can push the pads...
...and remove them easily.
Then remove totally caliper. Here starts an important but often forgotten operation, that can improve life time of brake seals : clean the pistons. Indeed, they are often full of oxydation, brake pads dust and so on. So, clean them with a powerful cleaner, which preserves seals : brake fluid himself !!
Then you can push pistons back; don't forget to open brake fluid tank, or you may have to push really hard !! Use some protection in order to prevent corrosive brake fluid to damage your paintings.
You can use your fingers, or some wood to push pistons. If it's really too difiicult, you can use a screwdriver, but you have to be very careful !! Check brake fluid level and close the tank. If you have a floating caliper, put some grease on axis, future wear will be more uniform.
Then you just have to do all operations in the reverse way : reinstall caliper without tightening, install pads, tighten caliper, install axis, clip and spring plate. Pump in order to push pads to disk.
And, of course, you know you have to brake carefully during first kilometers.
