I have to be in Portsmouth at 11 PM for ferrie boarding, so no stress. I start at about 11 AM, after a long stay in bed. And, miracle, weather is beautiful ! I end the crossing of Welsh mountains.
Just before to be trapped in an irrealistic traffic jam in the middle of the country. 10 km of stopped traffic till we arrive in a small village, where there is no accident and no other special event. Seems that police locked one rpad, but don't feel like telling why. No problem, I had plenty of time.
After a few kilometers on highway, I enter England, and go directly to Portsmouth. I arrive about 4 PM, with a lot of time ahead. So, I go to visit seaside, and especially the D-Day departure harbour.
I go to ferrie harbour at 7 PM, and after dinner I begin to wait for ferrie :
Boarding, I reach my little piece of carpet and here begins an 8 hours crossing !
