Suzuki GSX-R 600

On of the first main questions when starting racing was the bike's choice. The specifications were the following : a bike which was adapted to a beginner who has a quite good experience of road riding, with powerful machines. It was required that this bike could be accepted to some competitions, quite reliable (no 2-strokes) and not to expensive (3500 E max).

So, I began to have a look on 7-8 years old supersport 600 cc. No Yamaha, R6 were not old enough, and consequently too expensive. No Honda either, not 'sport' enough in those days. Just remained Suzuki and Kawasaki, and I chose the Suzuki for 100% subjectives reasons. Here is it :

Suzuki GSX-R 600 SRAD

It's a 600 GSX-R SRAD, year 1997, with 34000 km. There is just some scratches on the left fairing, but looks clean. Here are the specifications : 100 hp, 174 kg dry weight, 6.6 m.kg. When riding, it seems to be a pretty good choice, real racing bike with no major flaw, good one to learn racing. Then, sure nothing compares with today's supersport...they have 30 hp more and 20 kgs less....

If you want to know how this bike has been turned to a racing bike, see preparation and settings section.
