Maybe a few more water ??

August 12th/ Killarney - Bray : 382 km

Zoom back to initial map

Aaaah, it's so great to wake up in a comfortable (and dry !) bed. I look throught the window with some worries about weather : it's cloudly, but not rainy now. Maybe am I lucky again? After breakfast (I told 2 times that I wished a French one!), i go on the road again.

I enjoy this partly nice weather to go to see the lakes of Killarney , told to be 'the jewel of western Ireland'. The best place to see these five lakes one above the other is 'Ladies View', charming point of view located on the top of a pass.

I go back to Killarney after this short trip, and no I ride towards Dublin. And oh, surprise, it starts to rain again....Hmmm, strange, my left turn signal is flashing faster than as usual...sure one lamp is out. I stop, check connexions, before to diassemble the light itself. Ohhh, there is a swimming pool in the rear left one, only some fishes are missing !! I remove the lamp with a plier and begin to search for another one. I finally find one after a few kilometers spent shaking my left arm. Unfortunately, it's not powerful enough, and I break the orange plastic when reassembling it...will be OK with some adhesive tape till the end of the trip. And the light is not the only victim of irish weather : my insurance certificate has come off the front fender.

The crossing of southern Ireland is a bit boring, but there is some animations when arriving in Dublin. Before, it was raining, now, it's a downpour, with crazy wind. For the first time since I've been riding a bike, rain is so strong that it creates a film on my helmet's shield, so that I can see like during dry weather. My problems don't stop here : usually it was reallly easy to find B&B; here, I don't see any one. I have to reach southern suburbs to finally find one.

Last anecdote of the day : I ask the owner 'Do you still have an available room for this evening', and he answers me 'oh sorry I don't speak French'. Well I was tired, but he did not do a lot of efforts anyway !
